Magpies Heading For Portugal

Written by Newcastle Utd

Find out who's in the squad for Newcastle United's pre-season trip to Portugal

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor

Newcastle United are jetting out to Portugal for a week of pre-season training and two friendly fixtures.

Manager Alan Pardew has named a 23-man party for the tour, where the squad will be based in Braga in the North-West of the country.

The Magpies will face Rio Ave on Saturday evening (6pm kick-off local time) at the Estadio Do Rio Ave, before taking on Pacos de Ferreira on Tuesday (kick-off TBC) at the Estadio Da Mata Real.

There are places for the likes of club captain Fabricio Coloccini, midfielder Yohan Cabaye and forward Hatem Ben Arfa, while youngsters Adam Campbell, Paul Dummett and Haris Vuckic are also on the plane.

As always, nufc.co.uk is the only place to come for in-depth coverage of United, be it at home or abroad.

Managing Editor Anthony Marshall and PR and Supporter Liason Manager Lee Marshall will bring fans interviews, photos, previews, live text updates, reports and reaction from throughout the tour, including plenty of exclusive content and images that will be unavailable elsewhere.
