Haris Vuckic arrived on Tyneside on 16th January 2009, aged just 16.
Having put pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half year deal at United, the midfielder netted the winner on his Reserve team bow a month later before going on to also impress for the Club's Under 18s in the final months of the season.
Vuckic's Newcastle United debut came early the next season, as a late substitute in a League Cup tie against Huddersfield Town, and he followed that just five days later with his first league appearance, coming off the bench to help the Magpies beat Leicester City.
In all competitions during the 2009/10 season Vuckic featured four times, but the following year was restricted to just three League Cup showings as the Magpies consolidated their place back in the Premier League.
Some impressive pre-season displays in the summer of 2011 - including goals against Columbus Crew and Leeds United - put the Slovenian back into the first team frame and he appeared as a second half substitute against Fulham - his Premier League debut - only to suffer a broken hand almost immediately.
Four months later Vuckic was fit again and featured against Swansea, West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool during the busy Christmas period.
In February 2012, the youngster headed out on a one-month loan to Championship outfit Cardiff City, where he scored his first professional goal against Peterborough and made five appearances.
Born in Ljubljana, Vuckic began his career with NK Domzale, where he rose through the youth ranks before making his debut shortly before his 16th birthday in May 2008.
He played another four league games for the Slovenian PrvaLiga outfit before signing for Newcastle.
Vuckic represented Slovenia at Under 14, Under 16 and Under 17 level, before - at the age of 16 - being drafted into the Under 19 squad for the European Championships in Ukraine in the summer of 2009.
An Under 21 debut beckoned in August 2010, and two months later the midfielder was called up to the senior Slovenian squad for their Euro 2012 qualifiers against Faroe Islands and Estonia.
Although he did not make it off the bench during those fixtures, a first senior cap arrived on 29th February, 2012, during a friendly against Scotland.
