Newcastle v Arsenal: Three Changes

Written by Newcastle Utd

Ayoze Perez, Remy Cabella and Vurnon Anita return to the United starting line-up against Arsenal

At St. James' Park

Head coach John Carver has made three changes to his Newcastle United starting line-up for Saturday's Barclays Premier League home fixture against Arsenal (3pm kick-off).

Spanish starlet Ayoze Perez, French international forward Remy Cabella and Dutch midfielder Vurnon Anita all return to the Magpies' side as they look to bounce back to winning ways at St. James' Park.

The trio replace captain Fabricio Coloccini - who serves the first of a three-game suspension - Gabriel Obertan and Emmanuel Riviere.

United are expected to start in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with goalkeeper Tim Krul behind a reshuffled back four which sees Ryan Taylor and Jack Colback deployed as full-backs, with Daryl Janmaat and Mike Williamson forming the central pairing.

Anita will join stand-in skipper Moussa Sissoko in the middle of the park, with a trio of Cabella, Yoan Gouffran and Sammy Ameobi just ahead of them.

And they will provide the ammunition for five-goal front man Perez, who netted against Arsenal in the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium back in December.

On the substitutes' bench, there is a place for 18-year-old central midfielder Olivier Kemen - his first involvement in the Newcastle first team.

He is joined by fellow teenagers Lubomir Satka and Adam Armstrong, while Riviere, Obertan, Jonas Gutierrez and Rob Elliot make up the rest of the replacements.
