Written by Tom Easterby

Summer arrivals Martin Dúbravka and Kenedy both start for Newcastle United as they kick-off the new Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday (12.30pm kick-off).

United welcome Spurs to St. James’ Park for the second successive opening day of the campaign and goalkeeper Dúbravka, who penned a permanent deal with the club after his successful loan spell last term, and Kenedy, who is back on loan from Chelsea for a second stint, will both line up against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

DeAndre Yedlin, captain Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Paul Dummett form the defence in front of Dúbravka, with Matt Ritchie, Jonjo Shelvey, Mo Diamé and Kenedy lining up in midfield.

And Ayoze Pérez will provide support for lone frontman Joselu in attack.

There are four potential debutants on the bench for the Magpies – Fabian Schär, Ki Sung-yueng, Yoshinori Mutō and new number nine Salomón Rondón.

Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo and Christian Atsu are also named on the bench by manager Rafa Benítez.
