National League Cup final beckons for Newcastle United Women

Newcastle United Women could write their names into the club's history on Saturday when they take on Hashtag United in the FA Women's National League Cup final at Kenilworth Road (kick-off 2:30pm GMT).

Becky Langley's side travel to the home of Luton Town for the showpiece final and will be backed by a travelling Magpies contingent as they bid to add some silverware to their collection and complete the first part of what boss Langley hopes will be a memorable league and cup double.

It's already been a campaign to savour for United, who currently sit 12 points clear at the top of the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division, while they have enjoyed some fine victories on their road to the final too, including their 2-1 semi-final victory over Portsmouth in February when Georgia Gibson's last-gasp winner in front of the Gallowgate End sent a 22,000-strong crowd wild at St. James' Park.

The Magpies have been busy preparing this week, and Serena Taylor went along to Bullocksteads in midweek to bring nufc.co.uk this gallery as Langley put her charges through their paces ahead of the final before heading to St. James' to preview the game with local media outlets.
