Newcastle United's under-21s will make the short trip to Blyth Spartans for a pre-season friendly on Friday.

Peter Beardsley's side will travel to Croft Park for a 7.30pm kick-off, with entry on the night costing £5 for adults and £2 concessions.

The Magpies beat Blyth in last season's Techflow Group Northumberland FA Senior Cup final at St. James' Park.

While no squad details have been confirmed for Friday's friendly, Hatem Ben Arfa, Shane Ferguson, Gael Bigrimana, Haris Vuckic, Adam Campbell and Adam Armstrong were all included in Beardsley's second-string side which faced Barnsley on Monday.

Meanwhile, United's Barclays Under-21 Premier League game against Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday, 20th October will be played at Whitley Park.

The fixture was originally announced as being staged at St. James' Park with a 7pm kick-off.

However it will instead take place at the Northumberland FA's headquarters in Benton with a 1pm kick-off.
