By Dan King - Newcastle United Digital Editor

Panathinaikos remain on course for a place in next season's Champions League after a 1-0 win over Asteras Tripolis on Sunday.

And Mehdi Abeid played the full 90 minutes at the Stadio Apóstolos Nikolaidis.

Marcus Berg got the only goal of the game after 51 minutes, with Abeid playing just behind the front two.

The 21-year-old has ten goals this season.

Panathinaikos face Atromitos at home on Wednesday before travelling to PAOK on Saturday.

Meanwhile Jonas Gutierrez played no part in Norwich's 2-0 Barclays Premier League defeat to Arsenal.
