Alan Pardew believes his Newcastle United side were well worth the point they picked up at Carrow Road on Saturday with a goalless draw at Norwich.
Chances were few and far between for both sides, although Gabriel Obertan did come close for the Magpies, with Russell Martin hitting the post for the hosts.
But by and large defences were on top in East Anglia, and that was just fine by the boss.
"It was a really tough game in terms of workrate and diligence from both teams," he told nufcTV following the final whistle.
"Chris' team worked really hard, as we did, and no-one really got any time on the ball. There were a few moments but no more than that.
"It was a really well-earned point. We had worked on our back four and you could see it."
Pardew handed Mathieu Debuchy his debut, having arrived from Lille earlier this month.
And the manager is convinced the French full-back will get better and better.
"The game is played about 40mph quicker here," Pardew joked.
"As the game went on he settled and got used to the pace and there was a little bit of quality here and there.
"I think we are going to see more of him in a home game because he has real quality."
