Hope for Newcastle yet as the fourth official indicates there will be at least six additional minutes. Karanka is furious on the touchline.

Newcastle are throwing everything forward in search of an equaliser. Jacob Murphy bursts down the left to get the visitors deep into the opposition half. The lack of cutting edge is obvious, however, as the attack flames out.

Aitor Karanka will be very pleased with how his side have started. Once more they are camped in the Newcastle half. Benitez can only look on in contemplaton.
Newcastle are chasing shadows in the opening exchanges. Forest recycling the ball well and Byram sends in another teasing cross which is dealt with this time by the Magpies back line.
