Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.

Chelsea advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup with ease as a brace from Michy Batshuayi along with a stunning strike from a free-kick from Marcos Alonso were enough to defeat Newcastle. It was the perfect response from the Blues after being defeated in the semi-finals of the League Cup during the week. Newcastle extend their failure to reach the fifth round to 12 years following their failure this afternoon. They had their moments, but lacked the quality to punish Chelsea. The Magpies now face a crucial home match against Burnley during the week as they can turn their sole attention to Premier League survival.

Chelsea take a 2-0 lead over Newcastle into the break in this FA Cup clash, although the Magpies came close before the whistle. The Blues struggled for rhythm in the early stages, but a neat move started by Pedro allowed Michy Batshuayi to break the deadlock with a simple tap-in. Jonjo Shelvey should have done better with a close-range opportunity before another Chelsea break led to Batshuayi's second albeit with the aid of a deflection off Jamaal Lascelles. Rafael Benitez's men probed before the interval and Willy Caballero had to be alert to first deny Shelvey and then Chancel Mbemba to retain his team's two-goal advantage.

The Magpies have often underwhelmed in the competition, including their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Oxford United at this stage last term. Rafa Benitez's men beat Luton in the last round to advance to the fourth round, but will need a complete performance to defeat the Blues.

Chelsea were knocked out of the semi-finals of the League Cup during the week in their 2-1 defeat to Arsenal. Antonio Conte will be looking for a response from his team to advance to the fifth round. The Blues' form has been up-and-down since the turn of the year, but the club did prove on their day they're unstoppable in their 4-0 triumph over Brighton last week.
