Commenting on the fixture, Gateshead chairman Graham Wood said: "Newcastle United sending their first team to Gateshead is a sign of the growing cooperation between the two clubs.
"I've been in discussion with Lee Charnley for several months now on how we might work together to our clubs' mutual benefit and this fixture can be seen as the launch of what we hope will be a long and fruitful partnership.
"The last time Newcastle sent their first team to Gateshead we had a full house of 11,750. It would be great to see the same again".
