Peter Beardsley's unbeaten under-21s will be in action at St. James' Park on Monday night.
The Magpies, who have won one and drawn one of their opening two Barclays Under-21 Premier League fixtures, entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers with a 7pm kick-off.
Admission is free for season ticket holders and Members, or £3 for adults and £1 concessions.
Sammy Ameobi, Facundo Ferreyra, Gael Bigirimana, Adam Armstrong, Hatem Ben Arfa, Shane Ferguson and Haris Vuckic have all featured for United's second-string this term, while the likes of Lubo Satka, Callum Williams and Tom Heardman have impressed so far at this level.
Promising right-back Jamie Sterry could make his competitive return after suffering ankle ligament damage - ironically at St. James' Park - in last season's Techflow Group Northumberland FA Senior Cup final win over Blyth Spartans while Remie Streete is also likely to feature. His father, Floyd, played for Wolves in the 1980s.
Last season, United's under-21s faced Wolves at Gallowgate in August and ran out 3-1 winners, with Macaulay Gillesphey, Armstrong and Dan Gosling on target.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have confirmed that they will be sending a team to Northern League side Heaton Stannington on Wednesday, 1st October.
Beardsley's boys will make the short journey to Grounsell Park for a 7pm kick-off. Admission is £5 for adults and £2 concessions.
