Lee Probert will take charge of Newcastle United's FA Cup third round fixture away at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday (12.30pm).
It is the second time this season the Wiltshire-based whistler has overseen a Magpies match, having been the man in the middle of United's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at the start of September.
On that afternoon at St. James' Park, Probert booked five players including Jonas Gutierrez.
In total this term, he has refereed 20 games across the Premier League, Europa League, Championship and Capital One Cup, issuing 54 yellow cards and one red.
Coincidentally, Probert was the man in the middle last season when Newcastle met the Seagulls in the FA Cup - at the fourth round stage, where Brighton triumphed 1-0.
The 40-year-old began refereeing in 1986 in the local Bristol leagues, before working his way up the ladder and into the Football League in 2003.
He officially became a top-flight referee in the summer of 2007, but had already overseen his first Premier League fixture earlier that year as part of a trial.
On Saturday at the American Express Community Stadium, Probert will be assisted by Darren Cann and Charles Breakspear, with Andy Woolmer the game's fourth official.
