Lewis Cass

Position:
Defender

A former schoolmate of fellow Newcastle starlet Kieren Aplin, Lewis made two starts for the Magpies’ under-18 side last season before signing a two-year scholarship at Little Benton.

Equally capable at right-back or at centre-back, Lewis – like Kieren – figured for North Shields Juniors before joining United at the age of 12.

Cass has been an ever-present for the Under-23 squad in recent years after signing his first professional contract with the club in July 2018 and featured on the bench for Newcastle United's Emirates FA Cup third round clash at Rochdale.

‘Cassy’ admires the play of Carlos Puyol and Dani Alves and cites his Dad as the biggest influence on his career.

Back in 2015, he was part of the side that won the Neuville Tournoi in France and was a member of the team that won the Hong Kong sevens in May 2018 before retaining the trophy the following year.
