Emmanuel Riviere

A former France under-21 international, forward Emmanuel Rivière joined the Magpies from AS Monaco in July 2014

Born in Martinique in the Caribbean, ‘Manu’ played for local side Espoir Saint-Luce before moving to France to join Saint-Étienne in 2005.

He signed his first professional contract at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in 2008 and after establishing himself in the first team with Les Verts, moves to Toulouse and Monaco followed.

After securing promotion back to Ligue 1 with the principality club during the 2012/13 season, he scored 13 goals in 36 top flight appearances and was signed by Newcastle in summer 2014.

He joined Spanish side Osasuna on a season-long loan in August 2016.
