Sharna Rio Wilkinson signed for Newcastle United Women in the summer of 2020 and possesses a superb range of passing and impressive versatility.
Previously a student at Northumbria University studying Sport & Exercise science, Sharna played at Sunderland Regional Talent Club between the ages of nine and 16. During that time she played for Durham County at under-14 to under-17 age groups, as well as playing for the ESFA international team at under-17 level.
Then, when she went to Gateshead College for two years, she played for the ECFA international team.
She scored a wonderful winner as Newcastle United beat Barnsley Women 2-1 at St. James' Park in front of more than 28,000 supporters in November 2022.
