Keira Skelton

Position:
Defender

Cultured centre-back turned left-back who joined United in the summer of 2021.

Keira started playing football for Cleveland Hall, her local boys' team, at the age of five. She started out an attacking player before finding her position in defence.

She joined Sunderland Regional Talent Club as an eight-year-old and stayed there until she was 16, when she joined Newcastle United Women.

After an outstanding first season with the club, in which she won Players' Player of the Year as the Magpies won promotion from the FA Women's National League North Division One, the youngster suffered a long-term knee injury ahead of the 2023/24 campaign and Becky Langley will hope to have her fully fit as soon as possible.
