Erin Nelson

Position:
Forward

A winger who joined the Lady Magpies from Durham Cestria in December 2021 and wasted no time in making an impact.

Nelson, who hails from Whitley Bay, is a quick and direct wide player with an eye for goal who trialled with the Magpies' academy before spells at North Shields and Bedlington led her to Durham Women.

She made her first team debut for the Wildcats at the age of 17 in an FA Cup tie against Bristol City in 2020 before joining the Magpies the following year.

As a teenager, Nelson was diagnosed with RED-S/female athlete triad and experienced disordered eating, menstrual dysfunction and decreased bone mineral density. In 2023, she spoke about the impact the syndrome had on her physical and mental health. You can read her story here.
