Brianna Westrup

Position:
Midfielder

USA-born midfielder who joined Newcastle United Women in October 2019.

Making her debut as a substitute in a Women's FA Cup win at Bolton Wanderers Ladies, she then marked her full league bow with a goal against Chester le Street Town Ladies three days later.

Brianna was born and raised in Newport Beach, California, where she had been playing football since the age of four. She was recruited to play football collegiately to the University of Virginia where she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology.

During her four years at university, the team finished each season in the top-15 Division One football teams, and she captained the team in her final two seasons.

Her mother is Scottish, so she has been back to the UK every year since birth. As she has dual citizenship, it has always been a dream of hers to play overseas, specifically in England. Growing up watching the Premier League, she had always held the ambition of playing for a big-name club, so she is absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Newcastle United Women squad.
