A product of United’s Academy set-up, Paul Dummett is a Newcastle-born left-back who has been with his hometown club since the age of nine.
A former Kenton School pupil, Paul made his debut for the Magpies’ reserve side in January 2009.
After spending pre-season with the first team in summer 2011, spells out on loan followed - firstly at local neighbours Gateshead in March 2012, then at Scottish side St Mirren in September 2012.
After a brief return to Tyneside, during which he made his competitive debut for the Magpies in an FA Cup defeat at Brighton, Paul rejoined St Mirren and lifted the Scottish League Cup.
He scored his first goal for Newcastle United goal in a 2-2 home draw with Liverpool in October 2013 and at the end of that 2013/14 season, he made his international debut for Wales as a substitute against Holland in Amsterdam; qualifying through his father.
Paul captained United for the first time during the Magpies’ 4-1 win over Reading in August 2016 and he has since made the left-back spot his own with a number of committed, no-nonsense displays.
