Zoom Army: Matt Ritchie on sausage roll shinpads and head slaps
Matt Ritchie answers supporters' questions in the final instalment of Zoom Army
At long, long last, we've welcomed some supporters back to St. James' Park, we're once again allowed inside pubs (instead of sitting outside in the rain and snow having a pint) and we're even permitted - although not necessarily encouraged - to hug friends and family. For much of the last year, though, spending time with even our nearest and dearest has been difficult, let alone sitting down in person for a chat with one of Newcastle United's first team squad. So throughout last season, we invited supporters to submit their questions to UNITED - the Magpies' award-winning matchday programme - and we asked the best ones via Zoom.
For the final instalment, Matt Ritchie logged on after training ahead of the Sheffield United home game to discuss playing away, his leadership qualities, slapping team-mates on the head and sausage roll shinpads - and slipped in a couple of swear words for good measure.
Zoom Army regularly appears in UNITED, which is packed with 84 pages of exclusive interviews and features, plus regular columns from head coach Steve Bruce and skipper Jamaal Lascelles, every home game. Supporters can purchase back issues from last season here.
