YouTube: Watch six-goal thriller against West Ham from 26 years ago this weekend

The Premier League returns later this month - but before that, we've got another match from the archives this weekend.

This time we'll be taking you back to March 1994, when Kevin Keegan's swashbuckling side were in their first season in the Premier League - and on their way to a third-place finish.

The Magpies - with Andy Cole and Peter Beardsley up front and the likes of Pavel Srnícek, Rob Lee, John Beresford, Barry Venison and Scott Sellars - were always a joy to watch and our selected game, away to West Ham United, was no different.

In a thrilling, end-to-end game, there were six goals. Some fans might remember the score, and will want to relive the excitement of 26 years ago, while younger supporters can see how the match unfolded at the old Boleyn Ground.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Premier League is currently suspended and Newcastle haven't played since winning 1-0 at Southampton back in early March.

But United have aimed to fill the void by showing classic matches from the archives on YouTube, with the famous 5-0 win against Manchester United from 1996, the thrilling 4-4 draw with Arsenal from 2011, the 8-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in Sir Bobby Robson's first home match in charge and the 4-1 derby win over Sunderland from 2006 being watched by hundreds of thousands of supporters.

The 6-0 win over Aston Villa from August 2010 and, last week, the eventful 2-0 win over Liverpool from April 2012, also proved popular with fans.

The match will begin at 3pm (BST) on Saturday, and as well as watching the whole game supporters can also join in the conversation with other fans.
