Young makes permanent move to Wycombe

Midfielder Jack Young has joined League One side Wycombe Wanderers on a permanent basis.

The Morpeth-born 21-year-old, who had been at Newcastle's Academy since the age of seven, joined the Chairboys on loan in January until the end of the 2021/22 campaign but will permanently remain with Gareth Ainsworth's side.

Young, who signed his first professional contract with his boyhood club in 2019, was named on the bench for three of United's Premier League fixtures during the conclusion of the 2019/20 season before spending the first-half of the following term on loan at League Two outfit Tranmere Rovers.

The central midfielder, who regularly captained the Magpies at under-23 level, made his Newcastle first-team debut during a pre-season friendly win at Doncaster Rovers in July before also featuring against Rotherham United, Burton Albion and Burnley.

Everybody at the club would like to wish Jack the best of luck for the future.
