Written by Tom Easterby

Freddie Woodman has been named in the England Under-21 squad for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Scotland and Andorra.

The young Magpies goalkeeper is one of three stoppers named in the 24-mn squad by Aidy Boothroyd, along with Angus Gunn and Dean Henderson.

The Young Lions face Scotland at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium on Friday, 6th October, with kick-off set for 7.45pm.

Boothroyd’s side then travel to the Estadi Comunal in Andorra on Tuesday, 11th October, for a 5pm kick-off.

Woodman, 20, will be hoping to win his third cap at under-21, having earlier featured against Kazakhstan and Latvia.
