We've got Bruno on the cover - a look at Saturday's programme

Qatar 2022-bound Bruno Guimarães adorns the front cover of Saturday’s issue of UNITED – the Magpies’ official matchday programme – as Eddie Howe’s welcome Chelsea to St. James’ Park in their last game before the World Cup.

Newcastle’s midfield magician – one of a string of United stars heading to the Middle East over the next week – is pictured wearing his yellow Brazil shirt on a Samba-themed front cover and, inside, reflects on how so many of his “dreams have come true” in recent weeks and months.

Sky Sports presenter Pete Graves provides his latest column, while United Backstage, the feature in which we shine a light on some of those working behind the scenes at the club, continues with a look at Newcastle United Foundation’s community learning manager, Lee Smith.

Defender Matt Targett is the latest to dip his hand into The Toon Tombola, discussing Bigfoot, Chesney Hawkes and the other Matt Targett. Young midfielder Joe White – who was nominated for the Premier League 2’s Player of the Month award for October – provides this week’s Academy Diary, while Newcastle United Women’s skipper, Grace Donnelly, tells us more about herself.

As always, club historian Paul Joannou and regular columnist Stan Gate provide four pages each; Paul looks back at young goalkeeper Gary Kelly’s incredible showing against the Blues in 1988, while Stan brings all sorts of black and white insignia back to light in Toon Collectables. Toon Voyage!, meanwhile, a new series looking at some of the most significant geographical locations in the Magpies’ history, continues with a look at Bath Lane Hall – where Newcastle finally became United almost 130 years ago to the day.

Furthermore, there’s ten pages on visitors Chelsea, three more for Junior Magpies, boss Howe and skipper Jamaal Lascelles’ thoughts ahead of the game and lots of extra reading material.

UNITED will be on sale around the ground, priced at £3.50.
