The annual award was won by Fabian Schär last year, for his thunderbolt against Burnley, while Ayoze Pérez picked up the trophy three times in five seasons before his move to Leicester City. 

But there will be a new winner this year, with eight different players in with a shout of receiving the coveted gold Puma boot.

Jetro Willems is nominated twice, for his strikes against Liverpool and Manchester City, while Jonjo Shelvey also has two goals on the shortlist - his free kick against West Ham United and his late equaliser in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City.

Matty Longstaff is nominated for his debut winner against Manchester United and Miguel Almirón's goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Valentino Lazaro's effort at AFC Bournemouth and Matt Ritchie's howitzer against Tottenham Hotspur also in the top ten.

Two FA Cup goals are also shortlisted - Sean Longstaff and Allan Saint-Maximin's goals in the same game against Oxford United.
