Villa trip rescheduled

Newcastle United's Premier League fixture at Aston Villa has been rescheduled for 8pm on Saturday 23rd January and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The original fixture, which was due to take place at Villa Park on 4th December, was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak at Newcastle United's Training Centre.

The Premier League, in consultation with its clubs, has enhanced its COVID-19 protocols, in addition to reimplementing a twice-weekly testing programme as the heath of players and staff remains the priority.

The protocols, which strengthen key elements of the existing guidance, came into immediate effect last week.
