United to pass one million attendance mark in the Sky Bet Championship
Written by Dan King
Newcastle United will pass the one million mark for home league attendances this season when they entertain Burton Albion on Wednesday night.
The Magpies’ aggregate league crowd at St. James’ Park currently stands at 971,881 - an average of 51,152.
Newcastle have already passed the million mark in all competitions - that milestone was reached against Bristol City in February, with the help of EFL Cup ties against Cheltenham, Wolves and Preston and an Emirates FA Cup clash against Birmingham.
Tickets are still available here for supporters to become one of a million against the Brewers in a 7.45pm kick-off.
And in his programme notes, Rafa Benítez wrote: "My message is, stick together, get behind our team, your team. Please don't underestimate the crucial role you play in helping us achieve our shared goal. Our players need to feel your support and encouragement from the stands now more than ever."
United have three further home games against Leeds United, Preston and Barnsley.
