United offer new deals to Academy players

Newcastle United have offered new contracts to a number of Academy youngsters as preparations continue for the 2021/22 season.

Several members of Neil Winskill's under-18 squad who reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup in the term just ended have signed new deals.

Forward Dylan Stephenson scored a hat-trick in the fourth round win against Leeds and netted against Watford in the fifth round, while midfielder Lucas De Bolle was also on target against Watford at St. James' Park.

Josh Scott and Nathan Carlyon have also been impressive at Academy level, with all three making their debuts for Chris Hogg and Peter Ramage's under-23 side during the last campaign, while full-back Joe Oliver was given his second-string bow in 2019/20 and was a virtual ever-present for United's under-18s throughout last season.

Also offered contract extensions are under-23 players Mo Sangare, Adam Wilson, Ryan Barrett, Will Brown and Oisín McEntee.

However, defender Owen Bailey will leave the club this summer. The 22-year-old joined his hometown club at the age of seven and made his first team debut against Wolves in the Premier League Asia Trophy in July 2019.

Also departing are Oliver Walters, Tom Midgley, Jude Swailes, Yannick Touré, Oliver Marshall, Ludwig Francillette, Florent Indalecio, Kyle Scott, George Rounsfell, Lucas Gamblin, Josh Gilchrist, Lewis Brannen, Josh Harrison and Tai Ebanks.
