Under-18s set for Stoke

Written by Dan King

Newcastle United's under-18s entertain their Stoke City counterparts at Little Benton on Saturday (kick-off 11am).

United lost the reverse fixture against the Potters 5-2 back in November - despite leading 2-1 at half time thanks to goals from Mackenzie Heaney and Matthew Longstaff.

Longstaff is likely to feature again at the weekend but Heaney is injured, although the England youth international is nearing a return to full fitness following an operation on his shoulder.

Dave Watson's youngsters drew 2-2 with local rivals Sunderland on Tuesday, with Kelland Watts and Mo Sangare on target.

Admission at Newcastle's Academy is free.
