Turn St. James' black and white

Written by Lee Marshall

Two prominent supporter movements are urging fellow fans to turn St. James’ Park into a cauldron of black and white when Newcastle United host Aston Villa on Monday night.

The Sky Sports cameras will be on Tyneside for the Sky Bet Championship clash and the Gallowgate Flags and Wor Hyem 1892 groups have already made plans to get the ground rocking as millions of potential TV viewers around the world watch on.

Gallowgate Flags, who have been responsible for some stunning scenes already this season, will unveil their biggest and boldest display yet before kick-off, with a giant surfer banner unfurled amongst a sea of smaller flags, banners and scarves.

The display is being supported by Wor Hyem 1892, who are aiming to stimulate yet more deafening vocal support right around the stadium.

Both groups are asking supporters to arrive slightly early than usual and to bring along their scarves, creating yet another dazzling spectacle unique to St. James’ Park.

All displays are fully funded by supporters, who have continued to back the independent Gallowgate Flags initiative with incredible generosity.

To find out more about both groups, please visit www.gallowgateflags.com and www.worhyem1892.com.

A limited number of tickets for the match remain available on general sale at tickets.nufc.co.uk, by calling 0844 372 1892 (calls cost 7p per minute plus your network access charge) or from the box office at St. James’ Park.
