Trippier wins FUN88 Player of the Month award
Kieran Trippier is the FUN88 Player of the Month for January.
The England international joined the Magpies from Atlético Madrid at the beginning of the month and has wasted no time in showing his quality at St. James' Park.
He impressed on his debut despite the Magpies losing to Cambridge United in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, and put in another excellent performance on his Premier League bow for the club against Watford a week later.
And the right-back was then integral in United's 1-0 win at Leeds to scoop the award with 45 per cent of the vote.
Jonjo Shelvey was the runner-up with 24 per cent of the vote, with Allan Saint-Maximin and Fabian Schär also nominated for the monthly prize.
Trippier said: "For the fans to vote for me as the Player of the Month is something I'm delighted with and hopefully there's many more performances like I've had for the rest of the season.
"It feels like I've been here for so long already - that's how much I've settled in with the players, the staff and everyone in the city.
"They've made me feel so welcome and I'm looking forward to the future. Hopefully there's many more exciting times to come for us all."
