Three more Magpies on international duty

Three more Newcastle United players could be in action during the international break – but one Magpie has been withdrawn from his nation’s squad.

After the recent call-ups for Martin Dúbravka, Emil Krafth and Jeff Hendrick, Fabian Schär, Miguel Almirón and Jamal Lewis have also been named in their respective national teams' squads.

But winger Ryan Fraser, who had initially been named in the Scotland squad, has been withdrawn along with former Magpie Grant Hanley, with Hearts defender John Souttar stepping in to replace him.

Schär's Switzerland face Italy at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome in a World Cup qualifier on Friday, 12th November (kick-off 7:45pm GMT) before rounding off their qualification campaign at home to Bulgaria in Luzern on Monday, 15th November, with kick-off set also set for 7:45pm GMT.

Lewis' Northern Ireland also finish their campaign ahead of next year’s tournament in Qatar, facing Lithuania on Friday, 12th November and then Italy on Monday, 15th September. Both games are at Windsor Park in Belfast, and will kick off at 7:45pm GMT.

And Almirón could also feature for Paraguay in their own qualification double-header in South America.

They face Chile at Estadio Defensores del Chaco in Asuncion on Thursday, 11th November, kicking off at 11pm GMT.

Almirón's side follow that up with a trip to Barranquilla to play Colombia at Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melendez on Tuesday, 16th November, with that game also kicking off at 11pm GMT.
