Three festive fixtures selected for live coverage

Three Newcastle United fixtures over the festive period have been rescheduled after being selected for live television coverage, it has been announced.

Rafa Benítez's side kick off a hectic December with a trip to the capital to take on Premier League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. That game, set for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday, 2nd December, has now been brought forward to 12:30pm, and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The visit of Leicester City to St. James' Park the following weekend, on Saturday, 9th December, marks the 125th anniversary since the formation of Newcastle United in 1892, when Newcastle East End absorbed the assets of Newcastle West End.

And that game, which was originally set to kick-off at 3pm, will now kick-off at 5:30pm, and will be broadcast live on BT Sport.

The Magpies' Boxing Day clash with Manchester City has also been rearranged. That game has been put back a day, and will now be shown live on Sky Sports on Wednesday, 27th December, with kick-off now set for 7:45pm.
