The Mo the merrier, says Sangare

Written by Dan King

Mo Sangare is hoping to catch the eye in Monday night's Premier League 2 clash against Norwich City, which will be shown live on NUFC TV.

Fans from all over the world will be able to tune in and watch a strong Magpies second-string take on the Canaries at St. James' Park.

Jonjo Shelvey, Rolando Aarons and Freddie Woodman are all set to feature for Peter Beardsley's side, but Liberia-born teenager Sangare is also hoping to be involved in the 7pm BST kick-off.

The 6ft 3ins box-to-box midfielder joined the Magpies last year following a successful trial, and after playing for Dave Watson's under-18s last term he's stepped up to the under-23s this season.

Sangare scored his first PL2 goal against Stoke in the opening game of the season, and claimed an assist for Liam Smith in United's Checkatrade Trophy victory over Crewe at the end of last month.

And he told nufc.co.uk: "If I'm involved, it would be great to play on NUFC TV

"For every young player, that's what you want - you want people to watch you and see what you can do."

It is free to sign up for NUFC TV via the club's official website.

Coverage will start from 6.30pm and fans are advised to ensure they are logged into their NUFC TV accounts in good time ahead of kick-off.

Admission to St. James' Park on the night is free for season ticket holders and members, otherwise it's £3 for adults and £1 concessions.

And Sangare said: "Hopefully the Toon Army turn out in their numbers and we can get a win for them.

"We'll all be keen to show what we can do and I certainly feel ready and up for it.

"I've played at St. James' Park once, against Swansea (in the FA Youth Cup), but I'm looking forward to hopefully doing it again.

"It's a great experience to play on the first team pitch, get used to the pitch and get used to the environment as well."

United have won two of their three PL2 matches so far, as well as their 2-1 Checkatrade Trophy success at the Alexandra Stadium.

And Sangare added: "It's been a good start to the season for me and the team. I've been coming on lately and I can see the improvement from training.

"Long may that continue."

"For every young player, that's what you want - you want people to watch you and see what you can do."
