Team news: Three changes

Written by Rory Mitchinson

Fabian Schär, Ki Sung-yueng and Ayoze Pérez all start for Newcastle United against AFC Bournemouth on the back of their key contributions to last week’s win over Watford.

Match-winner Pérez came on for Yoshinori Muto just before the break last Saturday, and starts in place of the injured Japanese international today.

Skipper Jamaal Lascelles and midfielder Jonjo Shelvey are also unable to play, with Schär and Ki – the pair’s replacements against the Hornets – starting instead.

The Swiss joins Paul Dummett, Federico Fernández and DeAndre Yedlin in the Magpies’ backline, with Martin Dúbravka again in goal.

Ki partners Mohamed Diamé in the engine room, with Kenedy and former Cherries winger Matt Ritchie out wide. Salomón Rondón starts up front on his own.

Among those on the bench is Jacob Murphy, who hasn’t featured for Newcastle since coming on as a substitute in last month’s defeat to Manchester United.

Newcastle United: Martin Dúbravka, DeAndre Yedlin, Fabian Schär, Federico Fernández, Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie, Mohamed Diamé, Ki Sung-yueng, Kenedy, Ayoze Pérez, Salomón Rondón.

Substitutes: Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo, Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden, Christian Atsu, Jacob Murphy, Joselu.
