Team news: Schär in line for Magpies bow

Fabian Schär could make his Newcastle United debut when the Magpies face FC Porto this evening (kick-off 8pm BST).

The Swiss international - who joined the club from Deportivo La Coruña on Thursday - is among the substitutes at Estádio do Dragão.

Martin Dúbravka starts in goal and will make his first appearance of pre-season, as will Paul Dummett at left-back. DeAndre Yedlin is at right-back, with Ciaran Clark partnering skipper Jamaal Lascelles in central defence.

Matt Ritchie and Jacob Murphy are on the wings and Mohamed Diamé and Jonjo Shelvey are in the heart of midfield. Ayoze Pérez - who turns 25 on Sunday - starts just behind Joselu
