Team news: Same XI again as United host Gunners

Written by Rory Mitchinson

Newcastle United’s starting line-up remains unchanged once again as Arsenal arrive at St. James’ Park this afternoon.

The team tasked with ending the Magpies’ long wait for a Premier League win against the Gunners is the same as that to have started in recent victories against Southampton, Huddersfield Town and Leicester City.

Martin Dúbravka continues in goal, with DeAndre Yedlin, Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune and Paul Dummett making up the back four.

Mohamed Diamé and Jonjo Shelvey again play in central midfield, with Kenedy on the left flank and Matt Ritchie on the right.

Ayoze Pérez – United’s matchwinner in their last two outings – will provide the support to Dwight Gayle in the No. 10 role.

Islam Slimani – who was ineligible against his parent club last Saturday – returns to the bench for Newcastle today.

Newcastle United: Martin Dúbravka; DeAndre Yedlin, Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune, Paul Dummett; Mohamed Diamé, Jonjo Shelvey; Matt Ritchie, Ayoze Pérez, Kenedy; Dwight Gayle.

Substitutes: Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo, Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden, Jacob Murphy, Islam Slimani, Joselu.
