Written by Dan King

Newcastle defender Fabian Schär is in line to face England next month after being named in the latest Switzerland squad.

The Wil-born 26-year-old played for his country at the World Cup this summer, and is again included in Vladimir Petkovic's squad for games against Iceland and the Three Lions.

Switzerland face Iceland in their opening UEFA Nations League game on Saturday, 8th September before taking on England at Leicester's King Power Stadium on Tuesday, 11th September.

Named in the Switzerland squad for the first time is former Newcastle defender Kevin Mbabu, who now plays for Young Boys.

Meanwhile, Salomón Rondón has been called up by Venezuela for games against Colombia and Panama, both in Miami, and Ki Sung-yueng has been named in the South Korea squad to face Costa Rica and Chile.

DeAndre Yedlin will link up with the USA for their games against Brazil and Mexico, while Christian Atsu has been called up by Ghana for their game against Kenya.
