Sterry returns to Crewe on loan

Newcastle United full back Jamie Sterry has joined Crewe Alexandra on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old, who enjoyed a temporary spell at Gresty Road during the second half of the 2017/18 campaign, will spend the remainder of this term with the League Two outfit.

Sterry made nine appearances for David Artell’s side during his previous loan stint at the club, helping secure their 15th-placed finish after joining almost a year ago.

So far this season, the Newcastle-born right back – who has made eight appearances for his hometown club – has featured for Rafa Benítez’s side in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, and has been named on the bench for the Magpies last two Premier League fixtures.
