Sørensen named in Denmark Under-21s squad

The 19-year-old forward is the Magpies’ under-23s’ leading goalscorer so far this term, having bagged 18 goals in all competitions.

And his fine displays for Ben Dawson’s side have been rewarded with a call-up by his country, who will fly out to Mexico for two fixtures against the Central American outfit in January.

United are not obliged to release Sørensen for the trip as it falls outside of the FIFA international calendar, but have agreed to allow the frontman to link up with Niels Frederiksen’s youngsters.
