Scott to referee Magpies' Anfield trip

Graham Scott will referee Newcastle United’s Premier League clash with Liverpool on Boxing Day.
The Oxfordshire official has yet to take charge of a Magpies fixture this season, but has presided over five top-flight games, showing 13 yellow cards and a single red.
Coincidentally, he was the man in the middle for United’s trip to Anfield last term, too, where Rafa Benítez’s side were beaten 2-0 in a game which didn’t feature a single booking.
Scott’s only other Newcastle fixture last time out came in January, when the Magpies played out a 1-1 draw with Swansea City at St. James’ Park.
He will be assisted by Eddie Smart and Marc Perry at Anfield. Lee Mason will be the fourth official.
