Rondón at the double for Venezuela

Written by Dan King

Salomón Rondón scored both goals as Venezuela beat Panama 2-0 in the early hours of Wednesday (BST).

The Caracas-born forward, who joined Newcastle on a season-long loan from West Bromwich Albion, started the friendly on the bench after playing the full 90 minutes against Colombia on Saturday.

But he was introduced to the action in the 56th minute with the score at 0-0 and broke the deadlock from close range in the 67th minute - then in stoppage time, he grabbed his second.

Fabian Schär played the full 90 minutes on the right-hand side of a three-man central defence as Switzerland were beaten 1-0 by England on Tuesday evening.

Ki Sung-yueng won another cap for South Korea, playing the entirety of a 0-0 draw with Chile, while DeAndre Yedlin appeared as an 85th minute substitute for USA as they beat Mexico 1-0 in Nashville. He was booked.

Ciaran Clark was an unused substitute as Republic of Ireland drew 1-1 in Poland.
