Premier League International Cup fixtures confirmed

Written by Dan King

The dates and venues for Newcastle United's Premier League International Cup group games have been confirmed.

Newcastle United's under-23s were drawn in Group C last week, alongside Hertha Berlin, Benfica and Blackburn Rovers.

They will welcome Benfica to Whitley Park in Benton on Friday, 22nd November and Hertha Berlin on Wednesday, 11th December. Blackburn will then visit on Friday, 20th December. All kick-off times are 7pm (UK time).

Blackburn are one of three clubs taking part in the competition for the first time, while it's the second season that the Magpies have entered.

They reached the semi-finals in 2017/18, losing to eventual winners Porto after beating Sunderland at the last eight stage, having faced Sparta Prague, PSV Eindhoven and Liverpool in the group stage.

Each of the six four-team groups include two Premier League 2 sides and two invited international clubs.
