Premier League Cup semi-final date set for young Magpies

Written by Luke Vinton

Newcastle United Under-23s will face their Leeds United counterparts on Tuesday, 23rd April (kick-off 7pm BST) in the Premier League Cup semi-final.

The young Magpies will travel to Nethermoor Park, home of National League North side Guiseley, as Ben Dawson's side aim to seal their place in the final of the competition for the first time.

Newcastle sealed their place in the last four after a dramatic 3-2 victory over Derby County at Whitley Park - with Mo Sanagre scoring a extra-time winner after goals from captain Owen Bailey and Matthew Longstaff.

Both sides have already met twice in this year's tournament, with Newcastle winning 2-0 at home but losing 3-1 in the reverse fixture to finish runners-up to the Whites in Group H.
