Premier League Cup fixtures confirmed

Written by Luke Vinton

The dates and venues for Newcastle United's Premier League Cup group games have been confirmed.

The Magpies' under-23 squad were drawn in Group C alongside West Bromwich Albion, Hull City and Scunthorpe United.

Their opening tie will be an away clash against Hull at East Riding County FA on Friday, 4th October (kick-off 7pm) before hosting West Brom on Friday, 8th November (kick-off 12pm). Neil Redfearn's side will then visit Scunthorpe at Sands Venue Stadium on Friday, 29th November (kick-off 7pm).

On January, 17th 2020, Newcastle will host Hull (1pm kick-off) before playing West Brom at Keys Park, home of Hednesford Town. The Magpies' final group game will be at home to Scunthorpe on Friday, 21st February (kick-off 7pm).

All of United's home clashes will take place at Benton's Whitley Park.

West Brom are the only side in Group C which compete in the same division as United's youngsters, with the Baggies also plying their trade in division two of Premier League 2.

Newcastle enjoyed a memorable run to the Premier League Cup final last term, where they were narrowly beaten by winners Everton at Goodison Park.
