Premier League 2 play-off final date confirmed

Written by Dan King

Newcastle United's Premier League 2 division two play-off final against Southampton will be played at St. Mary's Stadium on Monday, 13th May.

Kick-off at the Saints' stadium will be at 7pm (BST). The South Coast side have home advantage as they finished top of the league, with Ben Dawson's young Magpies coming fourth.

Southampton's second-string beat United home and away during the season but Newcastle will look to make it third time lucky on Monday, with the winners gaining promotion to division one.

The Saints beat Aston Villa 2-0 in the semi-finals, with United edging past Reading after a penalty shoot-out. Extra time and penalties will be used if necessary to determine a winner on Monday night.

Admission at St. Mary's is free and tickets are available here.
