Postponed fixtures for young Magpies

Following the coronavirus outbreak, a number of games have been suspended for Newcastle United's under-23 and under-18 sides.

The under-23s squad were due to face Exeter City in the last-16 of the Premier League Cup on Thursday, 19th March along with an away trip to Blyth Spartans in a Northumberland Senior Cup semi-final tie on Tuesday, 24th March.

However, the Premier League agreed that the professional game in England will be postponed until no earlier than Thursday, 30th April.

Chris Hogg's side were also scheduled to face their Stoke City counterparts at the bet365 Stadium on Monday, 6th April along with Norwich City on Friday, 17th April but both Premier League 2 fixtures have been cancelled.

Meanwhile, Friday's under-18s fixture away at Manchester United was postponed along with their visit of Liverpool on Saturday, 21st March.

Neil Winskill's side were also in line to face their Stoke City counterparts on Saturday, 4th April along with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton on Saturday, 18th April and Saturday, 25th April respectively but announcements on future matches will be made in due course.

The government has advised the public to follow the latest NHS guidelines, which can be found at nhs.uk/coronavirus.

Anyone who suspects they may have symptoms consistent with Covid-19 should use the NHS's online 111 service at 111.nhs.uk
