Peter Noble 1944 - 2017

Newcastle United are saddened to record the death of Peter Noble, aged 72, who played for the Magpies from 1964 to 1968.

Local lad Peter joined United from Consett but found his time at St. James' Park disrupted by injury, meaning he only turned out for the black and whites on 25 occasions, netting a healthy return of seven goals.

Peter moved on to Swindon in 1968 before joining Burnley in 1973, where he enjoyed the best years of his career in a midfield/striker role.

Peter played on until he was 38 before setting up a successful sportswear business in Burnley. Our thoughts are with Peter's family and friends.

The former Newcastle player's funeral will take place on Friday, 19th May, with a service at St. John the Evangelist Church in Worsthorne at 12 noon followed by committal at Burnley Crematorium at 1.40pm. His funeral cortege will pass Burnley's Turf Moor ground at approximately 1.30pm.
