Oisín McEntee joins Greenock Morton on loan

Republic of Ireland under-21 international Oisín McEntee has joined Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old defender, who has captained Newcastle United's under-23 side this term as well as training on occasion with Steve Bruce's first team, heads to Cappielow to continue his development, having signed a new contract at St. James' Park in the summer.

McEntee scored on his debut for United's second-string in a 4-2 victory against West Bromwich Albion in January 2019, having helped the Magpies to to reach the semi-finals of the SuperCupNI in 2017 and the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup in the same season.
